fatphobic people love to use the phrase “don’t glorify unhealthiness”. but let’s think for a second what that really means… are they saying:

don’t let unhealthy people feel good about themselves?

don’t let unhealthy people be loved by others?

don’t let unhealthy people enjoy life?

don’t let unhealthy people wear clothes that they like?

don’t let unhealthy people feel beautiful?

is that really the message you want out there in the world?? even if someone was fat & unhealthy, their health has nothing to do with their worth as a person or whether they should be happy with themselves. plus people can be unhealthy for lots of of reasons. are you going to tell someone with an illness, that seeing them happy is “glorifying unhealthiness”? no! because that’s ridiculous!

so stop telling fat people that seeing them happy is glorifying unhealthiness!!
