I get requests all the time for evidence that most trans-identified kids grow out of it, the vast majority of them going on to be gay or lesbian adults. Here you go. Plenty of studies, helpfully compiled by Dr. James Cantor at this link:

Of course, nowadays, we’re influencing kids to STAY trans by “socially transitioning” them, using “preferred pronouns,” and puberty blockers. Wouldn’t it be interesting to just leave them alone instead of reassuring them that they really ARE the opposite sex, given how high the medical stakes are?

The biggest problem with trying to draw a definitive conclusion from the article is that the sources they use are not broad enough to make these causal statements.

I’ve read the research this is based on and first off, 8 of the ones on the bottom are from the 70s and 80 where sexual identity was still at ends with society let alone gender identity. So the effects in this outdated material can already be discredited because the biases of the time would hinder the ability to operationalize the construct at hand; gender identity.

The last few studies can barely be used as generalized causal statements. They are not thorough longitudinal studies for one. They only test the children for GID and then check in a few years later to see if they are trans or not with no farther follow ups. Most of these modern studies only use about 20-70 kids which is not great for external validity (validity to generalize to the public). This is just small groups of kids checked in on two points in their life. Hardly enough to make a statement of “____ is bogus and causes kids to etc etc etc.”

To draw any definitive statements of how kids can develop in their gender identities there would need to be a proper, modern, large sample, longitudinal study done. This data also negates many who transition later in life and aren’t affect by this “socially pressured transitioning” as stated above.

The bottoms line is trans is not a majority even when doctors try to operationalize it there is a lot slipping through the cracks especially with studies as outdated as this article is trying to utilize.

This is not a great support for your argument.
